He is a photographer who combines a great understanding of communication and advertising with a deep-seated passion for the art of photography. JAROSLAV PONCAR is an internationally renowned panoramic photographer. He was born in Prague in 1945. Since 1973 he is a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Cologne (Dept. of Photography). Poncar started to travel to India and the Himalayas in 1974. Most likely, he was the first Westerner to cross Tibet in one stretch from the extreme East to the extreme West. In 1995 he documented the world famous bas-reliefs at Angor Wat - a two meter high and one hundred meter long bas-reliefs - with the slit-scan-technique which resulted in one single negative. This resulted in an entry in the Guiness Book of Records as the longest transparency. |

| Studio Visits with Wesley Harvey and Brianna Burnett |
| |
Wesley Harvey I am completely fascinated by kitsch objects and how they can be perceived as tasteful or tawdry. Pink flamingoes, garden gnomes, and cat teapots are what make up half of my world. To some, these items have reference to a tasteless culture that lends itself to trash, but I am intrigued by their longevity and lure of the “object.” I combine my objects of kitsch and cute to create sculptures that are based on narratives that rely on the use of playfulness, sexuality, gender, identity, and color.

Brianna Burnett Currently my work revolves around the act of storytelling. I delight in the layers found in mythology and the idea of a memory transforming into a story retold. I find that certain artifacts hold countless narratives and seek the stories that interpret my experiences, illustrate memories or create a collective experience.
These particular works are images that have reconsidered the mythology and folklore which surround food or references to food. With these stories, I have created a place where imagination, reality and memory collide into superstition and worship. |

| AL RENDON GALLERY “Carnival of Messages” |
| |
KAT BROWN This work deals with a 'carnival' theme....how life for me has been like a carnival ride...the good, bad as well as tragic. |

| BRUCE SHACKELFORD The exhibited images are places on highways in between and around San Antonio, Texas, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I started with the original photographs and then scanned the images for enlargement. Elements of the images seemed to carry messages and are often biblical in content perhaps due to the associated tragedies, or perhaps the desert locations. |

| Studio Visit with Curt Slangal |
| |
| Curt Slangal Through dreams & meditation, I download images & information from an intuitive source and the work process begins. These images & messages start the feeding frenzy to create work. The creative process feeds itself perpetually…. like gasping for air or quenching a thirst…. my message is universal and direct. A broth of bold color and strong design and mixed materials are considered hallmarks in how I express my work. |
